Paul served in the United States Air Force for 20 years before retiring in the grade of Colonel. During his 20 years, he served as Chief of Policy Analysis for the Air Force Secretary, Commander of the Air Force Aerospace Guidance and Metrology Center, Chief Resources Management at the Oklahoma Air Logistics Center, and Commander, 338 Tactical Fighter Wing, Supply Squadron.  He also served in several base and command level positions in the Strategic Air Command.

Paul is a recipient of the Legion of Merit with oak leaf cluster, the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Air Force Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with Valor Device. He also received the National Defense Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with one service star and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

 

After retiring from the Air Force, Paul worked for the Northrop Aircraft Corporation for 10 years. First, in the Advanced Systems Division where he worked on developing the Air Force’s B-2 Stealth Bomber program. After first flight, Paul transferred to Northrop’s Aircraft Division as Vice President of Integrated Logistics Support for all of Northrop’s aircraft and missile systems. Later Paul was assigned to Northrop International Aircraft as President.

After leaving Northrop, Paul and his wife Virginia retired to Pioneer Orchards in Talent, Oregon. Shortly after, Paul acquired Personalized Software a small software development company providing management and accounting software solutions for the childcare industry. In 2015, with a 24,000 plus user-base and a fully integrated payment processing platform, Paul sold Personalized Software to an east coast Investment firm.
